About AFSEN AFRICA
AFSEN AFRICA
AFSEN AFRICA (Alliance for Food Security and Nutrition Africa) was established in Kenya in 2023 and officially registered in 2024 by PBORA.
It emerged from a shared urgency among youth-led organizations, researchers, and grassroots development actors to respond to the growing challenges of broken food and water systems, environmental degradation, and climate vulnerability across sub-Saharan Africa — with a sharp focus on Kenya and the East African region. These youth-led movements recognized the need to unify efforts, amplify local voices, and co-create sustainable, community-driven solutions for a more resilient future.
AFSEN AFRICA serves as a dynamic, multi-stakeholder platform that convenes committed youth, grassroots leaders, researchers, and advocates to reimagine and transform Africa’s food, climate, and water systems. The organization promotes knowledge exchange, and community-led solutions that advance sustainable development in Kenya and across the region.
Vision
AFSEN AFRICA envisions a food-secure, healthy and environmentally resilient society where empowered communities and innovations drive sustainable transformation
Mission
AFSEN AFRICA exists to transform food systems, enhance access to proper water and sanitation, build climate resilience, and expand economic opportunities through community-led solutions, innovation and evidence-based policy advocacy.

What Our Partners Say
Before AFSEN's program came to our village, we had limited knowledge about nutrition and farming techniques. Today, not only are we growing enough to feed our families, but we’re also selling surplus produce at the local market. Afsen gave us more than food—they gave us hope
